Semi-friable fused alumina is a new type of abrasive developed by our plant to meet the demands of the international market. With high quality bauxite as raw material, it is produced in the based of smelting the vice-white fused alumina, adjusting smelting process and ratio of raw materials, melting at the high temperature of above 2100℃ in the electric furnace, and using a special broken treatment technique. Since its hardness and toughness is between white fused alumina and brown fused alumina, it is called semi-friable fused alumina.
It is characterized by high temperature resistance, corrosion and erosion resistance, low apparent porosity and stable thermal stability.
Its grain is characterized by strong self-sharpening, sharp grinding edges and not easy to burn workpiece. After the grain of semi-friable fused alumina is processed, the relative ability of grinding resistance of semi-friable fused alumina increase,
which is particularly applicable for grinding thermosensitive steel and alloy, low hardness, lower non-ferrous metal materials such as aluminum, copper, zinc, plumbum and non-metallic materials such as wood, plastic, and it is widely used for the production of bonded abrasives.
